How much is actually enough?
Money, freedom, and the moving target called “financially secure.”
What I thought
There ought to be a number that makes the worry stop.
What I tried
Separate the practical questions from the emotional ones: monthly needs, future plans, unexpected costs, and the freedom to turn down the wrong work.
What actually happened
These questions don’t all have the same answer. A number without a picture of the life it supports isn’t especially useful.
What I’d do differently
Write down the assumptions. Revisit them when life changes.
Where I am now
Learning, asking questions, and treating this as a personal record—not a formula for someone else’s finances.
