If you’ve never heard of The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews, let today be the day that all of that changes. This book had been sitting in my bookcase for nine months or so, but I had not bothered to pick it up and read it. The other day I came out into my living room, and there it was just sitting on the floor in front of the bookcase. It’s like it was looking up at me and saying, “READ ME.” So, whose to argue with an inanimate object? I picked it up and started reading it, and quickly felt being sucked into this book.
The book guides you on an alternate universe journey through history, as the main character named David gets the opportunity to meet seven historical figures at the time of them making life changing decisions. They are able to offer him advice, inspiration, and guideline on what it takes to be the very best that you can be. Each person he meets is able to offer insight into life that teaches invaluable lessons that all of us can learn from. It took me just about a day and a half to read, and now I can’t recommend it enough. The Traveler’s Gift is one of those books that very well could be life changing. It’s an easy read, but it’s incredibly powerful. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for personal development, those who enjoy history, those who are looking to get inspired, and just about everyone else somewhere in between.
