What can I say? Another great city in Spain. I loved the green spaces, the food, and the easy going vibe of this place. Everything was so clean and no matter where you roam, it feels very safe (in fact, besides some kinda crazy old dude at a bus station, everywhere in Spain felt safer than what I experience at home).

San Sebastián is Basque Country, so if you’re looking for the traditional Spanish culture, this place might surprise you a bit. The language is different, the people are different, and there’s just something that feels ‘different.’ But then again, this is true of many regions in Spain and other countries. This is why it’s interesting to see several cities within a country.

Do I recommend this city? Yep! If you’re into food, beautiful architecture, hiking, beaches, etc., you’d probably dig this place.

4 years ago to the day @anthonybourdain died. I’ve only cried over the death of two celebrities…Anthony Bourdain and Charlie Watts.

This morning as I was strolling the streets of the old town of San Sebastián, these two pieces of art were hanging outside.

Anthony inspired me to be more curious in my travels, to dive into the unknown, and reach a little deeper. He inspired me greatly and I miss him as though I knew him.

In the words and song of The Rolling Stones, ‘may the good Lord shine a light on you, make every song you sing, your favorite tune. May the good Lord shine a light on you, warm like the evening sun.’

I leave you with this…one of my favorite quotes from Anthony:
